Schloss Lichtenstein

Il Castello di Lichtenstein è un castello storico costruito nel 19° secolo.
Si trova ai margini dello Swabian Jura, ad 817 metri sul livello del mare.
Ispirato dal romanzo di Wilhelm Hauff "Lichtenstein", il Conte Guglielmo di Wurttemberg lo fece costruire nel 1840-42.
Il sito intorno al castello neogotico è composto da altri edifici del 19° secolo: una cappella, un ampio giardino e il romantico cortile.
Nelle camere da letto del conte appare in tutta la sua grandezza ed opulenza la cultura nazionale del tardo romanticismo.
Costruito per rendere omaggio al Medioevo, il Castello di Lichtenstein è anche conosciuto come "Castello della favola di Württemberg", in quanto fortemente improntato allo stile romantico, sia nell'aspetto che nell'arredamento.

Lichtenstein Castle is a historicist castle built in the 19th century.
It is located at the edge of the Swabian Alps, 817 metres above sea level.
Inspired by Wilhelm Hauff’s novel “Lichtenstein” Count Wilhelm of Württemberg had it built in 1840-42.
The site around the neo-Gothic castle is composed of other buildings from the 19th century, a chapel, an ample garden and the romantic courtyard.
In the bedchambers of the count the opulent grandeur of late romanticism’s domestic culture appears at its best.
Built to pay homage to medieval times, Lichtenstein Castle is also known as “Württemberg´s fairytale castle” as it adheres to romanticism in style and furnishing.

Nel 1999 la tempesta "Lothar", con venti che soffiavano ad oltre 200 km/h, spazzò via 40 mila ettari di foresta nera, lasciando sul terreno 30 milioni di metri cubi di legname.
Nel 2003 è stato inaugurato il "percorso Lothar", un sentiero lungo 800 m che si snoda tra passerelle e scale, fino a raggiungere un punto di osservazione posto sul crinale.
Percorrendo il sentiero è possibile toccare con mano i resti della vecchia foresta nera e, nel contempo, osservare come la natura stessa stia rimarginando questa ferita.
La natura distrugge, la natura crea.

In 1999, the storm "Lothar", with winds blowing at over 200 km/h, swept away 40 thousand hectares of black forest, leaving behind 30 million cubic meters of timber.
In 2003 was inaugurated the "Lothar path", a 800 m long path that winds through walkways and stairs, up to an observation point on the ridge.
Along the path you can reach out and touch the remains of the old Black Forest and at the same time observe how nature itself is healing this wound.
